Science Ap-PRINT-ice

Let's face it, science isn't everyone's favorite subject!  As a science teacher, I accept that.  But what I have a difficult time accepting is how quick people are to state they don't like science, but are not able to give reasons why they don't like science. Could it be that many do not like science because they do no know what science is? Or possibly, they had one bad experience with science and so have written the whole idea of science off?

Today and tomorrow we explore what it means to be a scientist.  What does a scientist do? How do scientists study the natural world?  In essence, the training of students to be scientists begins this week.  We all can learn something from someone who is in the profession.  In honor of that idea, we had a little fun today and made Science Ap-PRINT-ice Badges.  Students used their thumbPRINT to create a personal badge and shared a bit of their own creativity.
